Vinyl flooring is a form of resilient flooring. It is made of different layers compressed together. Typically, vinyl flooring is made starting with a backing of felt or fibreglass. Next layer on top is the PVC core layer. Decorative designs are printed on the next layer that sits on top of the core. It is then topped with the wear layer* and finished with a top coat of polyurethane.
*Wear Layer The thicker the wear layer, the more durable the flooring. For commercial standards, wear layer of vinyl floor should be at least 0.5mm.
